Gretchin test models aka my disciples of the orknissiah

these two are the first of my disciples of the orknissiah.  I am not sure how meany more I will make I have a lot of these night goblins from an old fantasy starter set and a nice chunky unit might be a good idea to have to hang out with my shokk attack gun big mek and let what is currently his unit of boys move up and get in the fight.

Scratch building a simple grotzooka

I started with one of the big shoota arms chopping it off where the gun ended and the arm started
I used  a pen tube for the main barrel next time I will find one of the cheeper white pens tho as this clear blue one did not take glue well and made it harder the white ones are made of the same plastic as plastic card  and glue up nicely

Next I built a nice simple box out of plastic card and placed it on top angling one side out to give the grots more room to throw scrap in
next i drilled a bunch of holes in a pattern into some thin card and wrapped it around the barrel to look like a shroud and give it some texture as you can see i had issues getting it to stick and Evan cracked my piece in at least one place. normally that means remaking it but this is for an ork device so it just adds to the ramshackle feel. I also added the little sight from some ork kit I can no longer identify.
I added in a plate to sit junk on just like the real one because it makes it easier to paint and also requires less scrap to look like it is full. I also started with a few larger pieces of pipe and a chunk of airplane propeller also a glyph on the side of the bucket. A few real bits goes a long way to make your scratch built stuff  look like the real deal.
there we go lots O scrap to shoot at my enemy's. I added a few more small glyphs on the blank sides of the bucket after this but forgot to shoot a pic. I will have this painted up shortly and you can see it all painted up and on a kan early next week

15 more boys to fill out the seckond unit

Right before the codex came out I cranked out these boys to max out the second unit. So now that leaves me with just 30 more boys to paint but then all the punishing parts of playing orks will be finished and I can happily mess around with building crazy mek inspired contraptions.
