10 more boys part two

Not a ton of progress but I am all most done the first layer on all 10 of them.  A few more sessions and they will be fit to fight.

Tau firewarrior squad four

The tau fire Warrior is nothing to fear he is weak and shoots no better then a imperial guardsmen. His gun on the other hand is amazing for a basic infantry weapon.

One of my favorite things I used to do with this squad and its twin was load them into there devil fish and pull off the old "Fish of fury" set up where 2 devil fish parked next to each other and dismounting the fire warriors behind them sence they were/are skimmers they did not block line of sight back then and you could shoot under them at what ever was past the transports. The thing that made this great was that with the odd shape of the devil fish hull you could rapid fire the guys that were in front of the fish but they would not have range to charge you on the next turn. So you could re mount up and fly off OR take a 2ed rapid fire turn at them.

Ah the grunts of the tau army if the could shoot better they would be a real force to recon with. But on the bright side from what I have herd 6th edition has been kind to them with overwatch and shooting rapid fire weapons on the move at full range. I would guess these poor fellows would fair much better these days then the dark days of 4th when I played them.

Mass painting Orks!

All the bases have sand on them and i just primed everything black then all the Boys got sprayed leafy green. Sadly this is the last time they will all have anything done to them all as one batch seance i learned from the last batch that 19+ at a time is just a bit to much for me. So i will be on to painting five in a go then perhaps ten if that goes well.

Imperial Fists Terminator

Finished my first dark vengeance mini today. I Just realized that the back of the leg armor never got washed... so that needs to get fixed but over all I am happy with it. The quality on these push fit models just keeps going up the ones from Space hulk had some odd places on them where they would have been hard to pop out of the molds but it left some weird jutting pieces on them that you had to carve off to make them look correct. These have very little of that problem so clean up was fast and easy.

Finished up one more today I am not thrilled with the cloak the white and red need something to separate them a bit I think perhaps black edges or something like that.

Certain models I have sat on for quite a long time hoping that I will get better at painting so that I could do them justice.
Then I found that I never seem to feel like that time comes about so It's time to knock them all out one by one. Theses two are from "space hulk" there a quite a few more that I have primed and plan to knock out soon.  So keep an eye open I should have some interesting Things painted up shortly.
  

Imperial fist's devastators squad Ursus

Well I lied about moving on to winter guard in the last post but you have to paint what you feel in the mood to paint.
I added a little bit of damage to there armor to match there Sargent. The sargent was actually my test model for the army who I was playing with a lot of modifications that i dropped for the army as they were  just to time consuming to do for each model. One day I would like to go back and at least redo my other sargents.

This squad had the honer of being the ethereals body guards when ever i wanted to play that option. they stood out a bit due to mostly not using helmets. Sadly when preforming this duty most people blasted them apart before they got to do anything due to them having +1 bs   and thus being worthy of targeting.

Ork Trukk part: III

finished the trukk today I believe I went a bit overboard with the rust and mud but it looks used for sure.
I love what games workshop  has done with all the new Ork kits they just look great the just need to get around to replacing the few old ones left in the line like the warbuggy and wartrakk they look as bad as the dark eldar before there over haul. But that does give us a good reason  to kit bash them out of other things so I wont wine to much.

Ork Trukk part: II

Now that warmachine is all painted up and ready to play it's time to get back to the buniness of the WAAAAAA!!!! some of you might remember that I was trying to paint up 500 points of Orks for an escalation league. Well I  decided at the last second to not buy the new big rule book and wait for the starter set.  That caused my painting on them to stop dead in its tracks with only 2 models to go. Now it is time to fix that and get going again.

The truck looks better each time I add a new color and I think I am finally done baseing all of it. Time to wash it and go back to detail it.   

Tau army Lone fire warrior

Well  I sold off my Tau army a bit ago but there is no reason I cant post them up on my blog bit by bit and give you some insight into my early war gaming days.

This fellow is Shas'ui Mont'ka which means he is a fire warrior Sargent and is honored with the name mont'ka for getting a decisive killing blow. If you had the original tau codex there was a nice language section they cut out of the 5th edition one. The reason he earned the name mont'ka was in a game with a few friends years ago he was the lone survivor of his squad and passed 2 last man standing checks to take a pot shot at wolf lord in terminator and finished him off it was the most lucky set of rolls I have ever seen  the next day I added the half of a shoulder pad to his base and painted it up space wolf style to forever show his greatest dead. 

He was the only one in his squad to ever get finished painting wise by the time I had got around to painting this squad I had all ready painted three other squads of twelve so I was burned out on them.

Coven Throne

I started painting the Coven Throne today. I most certainly have never painted anything with this much detail it is a bit over whelming. so i started simple and put boltgun on the armor of the spirit horde that pulls it then washed them all in a mix of thraka green and asurmen blue. I think I will do one more light wash of straight asurmen blue before I go back after the high spots in white. 

Vampire counts: skeletons the return

It's time the vampires got some new blood.... any way I have had these 3 boxes of skeletons laying around for a bit and now they are going to be added to the twenty I all ready have finished( vampire-counts-skeletons )They should be much more threatening in a large block. At least that is what i am shooting for.

Deffkoptas part: I

I decided to try playing in an escalation league that is starting soon at my FLGS and I need these 2 Deffkoptas ready to go  asap also a warboss and a truck and about 4 more nobs..... guess I need to get painting.

again there are three colors so they do make minimum standards... but there not even green and that would be just wrong to field them as is.

Orc batch painting part:six finely finished

well there finely finished my first squad of boys is clear coated and ready for the table top.

 I had to shoot them 5 at a time. my light box is only so big sadly but this is the fruit of my labors following the paint scheme set up in  orc-speed-painting. I cant wait to get some more done so i can start throwing dice with this army.
